Yoga Therapy
Sciatica Yoga Therapy
Targeted yoga therapy for sciatic pain — addressing lumbar compression, piriformis tension, and the root causes.
How it works
Addressing the root, not the symptom.
Sciatica arises when the sciatic nerve is compressed — most commonly by a herniated disc, tight piriformis, or lumbar misalignment. Most treatments manage the pain; yoga therapy addresses why it keeps returning.
Rajat designs individual protocols that decompress the lumbar spine, release deep hip musculature, and rebuild the movement patterns that take chronic pressure off the nerve.
What the therapy includes
- Lumbar decompression postures
- Piriformis and hip rotator release
- Core stabilisation to protect the spine
- Posture and gait correction
- Breathwork for pain management
- Progressive movement rehabilitation
- Lifestyle and ergonomic guidance

Benefits
What changes
Pain reduction
Targeted release of compressed structures relieves acute sciatic pain — often faster than passive treatments.
Root cause addressed
Correcting posture, movement habits and muscular imbalances that cause compression to recur.
Long-term strength
Building core and hip strength that protects the lumbar spine — so the problem does not return.
FAQ
Common questions
Do I need any prior experience to join? ▾
No experience needed. Rajat teaches complete beginners regularly and structures every session around where you are, not where you should be.
I have back/neck/knee pain. Can I still do yoga? ▾
Yes — this is exactly what Medical Yoga Therapy is for. Rajat will first assess your condition and then build a protocol specifically around your pain and its causes. Many students with serious conditions have found significant relief.
What is the difference between online and in-person classes? ▾
The quality of teaching is identical. Rajat watches your form carefully on video and gives real-time corrections. In-person sessions (Delhi) allow hands-on adjustments, which is especially useful for therapy work.
How many sessions before I see results? ▾
Students typically notice changes in flexibility, awareness, and energy within 4–6 sessions. For medical therapy goals, meaningful relief usually comes within 8–12 targeted sessions. Long-term transformation comes with consistent practice over months.
I'm 50+ and haven't exercised in years. Is this suitable for me? ▾
Absolutely. Several of Rajat's most dedicated students are women in their 50s and 60s who began with no prior fitness background. The approach is progressive, safe, and entirely adapted to age and ability.
Do I need any equipment or a yoga mat? ▾
A yoga mat is recommended. For strength training, resistance bands are useful but not essential — Rajat can design effective programmes using only bodyweight. All other props are provided in the studio or guided for home use.
