Rajat Dua — Yoga Teacher and Medical Yoga Therapist
The Journey

Twenty years of practice.

Rajat Dua's journey with yoga began in 2004, at the age of 15 — not as exercise, but as genuine inquiry. Over two decades it deepened into formal mastery: a Diploma from Kaivalyadhama Institute, a Master's in Yoga Education from K.J. Somaiya University Mumbai, a 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Teacher Training in Mysore, and advanced Medical Yoga Therapy certification.

Beyond formal study, Rajat's personal practice includes multiple Vipassana meditation retreats — extended periods of silence that have deeply informed how he teaches meditation and pranayama. He has taught at SNDT Women's College Churchgate Mumbai, conducted corporate sessions for VIP Bags and Mastercard India, and led wellness sessions at the India Heals conference, Taj Santacruz Mumbai (SEPC, Dec 2018).

How Rajat teaches

Every student is different — the same posture means something different for a beginner, an athlete, and someone recovering from injury. Rajat's approach starts with understanding the individual before applying any technique.

Classes are never copy-pasted from a fixed syllabus. Rajat explains the "why" behind every posture and practice — the anatomy, the breath, the intention — so students build real understanding, not just repetition. This is what makes progress lasting rather than temporary.

A Personal Understanding

Healing begins within.

Over many years of practising yoga, meditation, pranayama and Vipassana — and of sitting with hundreds of students — Rajat has come to a quiet understanding: the body, breath, emotions, thoughts and unconscious patterns are far more connected than they first appear.

Unresolved emotion, inner conflict, suppressed expression and habitual patterns can shape how we experience ourselves and respond to life. Through movement, breath, meditation and honest self-inquiry, it becomes possible to gradually notice these patterns — and slowly change our relationship with them. This is Rajat's personal understanding from years of practice and teaching, not a claim that emotions cause or cure disease.

Yama, Niyama, Sīla

The foundation of practice.

To Rajat, yoga was never only asana. How we live, think, speak and relate to ourselves and others forms the ground a deeper practice grows from — the essence of Yama and Niyama in the yogic tradition, echoed by Sīla, ethical conduct, in the Vipassana tradition.

Years of Vipassana practice deepened this understanding for Rajat — that ethical living, awareness and meditation quietly support one another. When the way we live and the way we practice begin to move in the same direction, practice tends to go further and become more transformative — wherever your own practice happens to begin.
